Visit from good friends

We had a visit from Old Friends from our VSO intake - Stephan, Sara, Sandra and Edel (new intake Jan 09) who were doing a massive tour of Tanzania. They arrived on the Sunday night ferry and after a rather wet walk round Bukoba we picked them up in the afternoon.

That evening we went up to the escarpment to look over lake Victoria and see the sun set. Really beautiful.

Next day we were joined by Jim and Sue and Elaine who also was up from Dar. At midday we set off on a walk and picnic down to Bugasha, We had great walk up over the hills and down the escarpment. We paddled through flooded areas and came to the shore. After a look at the village we eventually set off home and arrived tired but happy at 6.30pm

We all squeezed into our small house and there was much chat and laughter. It was really good to catch up on their news and share experiences.
Next day they looked around and we then had an evening meal on the lake shore at the Yasila hotel before all catching the ferry to Mwanza. The ferry was packed to the gunwales with bananas, both sweet and plantain.
